| Objectives
In recognizing the importance of computers and Information Communication Technology (ICT), as tools, the Ministry Information Technology Division has as objectives the following: |
- Create, improve and maintain an environment where the Government of the Republic of Namibia at large can exploit these ICT tools to the fullest, in cooperation with the Government IT Policy makers in the Department of Public Service Information Technology Management (DPSITM) at the Office of the Prime Minister.
- Develop, enhance and maintain an information technology telecommunication infrastructure that will facilitate inter-ministerial networking with state-of-the-art transmission media capable of transmitting data near and far, big and small chunks, at reasonable speed.
- Enable the Government to handle its Financial information requirements efficiently, by developing, implementing, operating and maintaining well organized information systems for gathering, storing and processing Governmental data, and converting such data into useful information for decision making.
- Provide training and re-training to its staff members in order to assure professional assistance and first line system support to end-users in the Government.
- Acquire, implement and maintain at all times International best practice ICT tools within the Government, always having the latest versions of equipment and applications in operations.
- Assure good working conditions of all ICT hardware components through hardware maintenance Service Level Agreements (SLA).
